Just about an hour ago, Sri Chandikeshwarar was taken from Sri Kapali Temple, Mylapore to P. S. High School at R. K. Mutt Road and mud was brought from there to be used in the yagasalai for the Palligai pooja at the temple.
This is known as Mritsangrahanam. Mrit meaning sand and Sangrahanam meaning collecting it.
The area from which the mud is collected is decorated with beautiful kolams before the pooja takes place.
