It is the turn of the Adikara Nandi procession tomorrow morning (April 3). It is believed that on this day Adikara Nandi, the commander of the army of Lord Shiva, comes to oversee the arrangements done for the celestial wedding of Lord Kapaleeswarar and Goddess Karpagambal.
The deities will halt at intervals on the Mada Streets where vibuti will be distributed to the devotees. Devotees can offer coconuts, flowers and other pooja items to the deity at this time.
Showpieces, balloons, handmade fans and several other goods for children and adults are displayed by hawkers around the four Mada Streets on this day. A huge crowd is expected to visit the area tomorrow, to soak in the festivities and to get good bargains on the wares sold there.
Coconut and flower vendors too are expected to set up their shops on both sides of the streets, for devotees who would like to offer something to the deity.
